Is your father paying privately or through Medicaid? If he’s paying privately, he has a lease for his room and cannot be summarily evicted. If he’s covered by Medicaid, the Medicaid program should have “bedhold” rules that hold the bed for him for a period of time. Medicaid doesn’t want patients to be left with nowhere to go and to languish in hospitals at far higher costs.
